Chelsea go after Tagliafico

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Chelsea have made their interest in signing Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico very clear.

The 27-year-old, who has been capped more than two dozen times by Argentina, signed for Ajax back in 2018 for a fee of around £3.5 million. One of the priorities for the Blues during the transfer window does appear to be for them to steady the ship at the back, because defensively, they’ve been running into all sorts of problems.

Frank Lampard is no fool and he’s well aware of the issues that they’ve been having, because while they have some great attacking options, that doesn’t really mean all too much if you can’t stem the flow when you’re defending.

Tagliafico has been at the heart of great speculation over his future, and even if it isn’t Chelsea, it doesn’t seem like he’s going to be staying in Amsterdam for much longer.
