Chelsea hopeful over Aubameyang

According to a recent report from The Telegraph, Chelsea are still hopeful of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

The deal is said to have been complicated in the last few days after it was revealed that Aubameyang and his wife had been struck in the face during a violent armed robbery over the weekend.

Aubameyang is currently asking for a three-year deal with the Blues which they aren’t prepared to offer, with the listed sale amount of £25 million not being quite as much of an issue.

The veteran is likely to serve as a controversial presence back in the Premier League courtesy of the way in which he left Arsenal.

Still, even at the age of 33, Aubameyang has the potential to be exactly the kind of striker Chelsea need as they attempt to make a strong push for the top four – and also go after some much-needed silverware this season.
