According to a recent report from AS, Chelsea are still interested in trying to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak – who they face tomorrow night.
The Blues and Atletico will face off this evening with the winner progressing to the quarter-finals of this season’s UEFA Champions League. The belief is that it will be a pretty telling night for both clubs not just in terms of the result, but in terms of Oblak’s performance.
The Madrid star has been pinpointed as one of the main reasons behind their success in La Liga this season and as such, Chelsea are invested in the idea of making a play for his signature.
Given their goalkeeping options at Stamford Bridge this seems like it’d be a bit of an odd move, but at the same time, it may be at the request of new manager Thomas Tuchel – which could really put the cat amongst the pigeons.
