Cheryshev linked with Everton switch

Talksport understands that Everton are interested in signing Villareal midfielder Denis Cheryshev.

The twenty-seven-year-old was one of the stand out players for the hosts at this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia, scoring four goals in five appearances as his side crashed out in the quarter-finals to Croatia.

His performances have alerted several clubs to his qualities though it is Everton who are set to steal a march on their rivals as they look to tie up a deal before next week’s transfer deadline.

Cheryshev joined Villareal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2016 and has since racked up fifty appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals while he also spent the 2014/15 campaign at the Estadio de la Ceramica on loan.

He has also had loan spells with Valencia and Sevilla, winning the Europa League with the latter in 2014.
The Toffees can be backed at a price of 7/2 to finish the 2018/19 campaign in the top six of the Premier League.
