Borussia Moenchengladbach have secured the signing of Germany Under-20 international Tolga Cigerci from Wolfsburg.

The 19-year-old central midfielder made his first-team debut last season, but has yet to feature for Felix Magath’s side in 2011/12 and has been sent to Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga rivals for an 18-month loan spell.

“We wanted to sign Tolga in the summer and are pleased that it worked out,” sporting director Max Eberl told Moenchengladbach’s official website.

“He is a very talented, strong player in central midfield and will strengthen our squad.”

Should Cigerci impress at his new club, Gladbach will be able to exercise an option to make the deal permanent for an undisclosed fee.
