Looking to make it back-to-back victories over their bitter rivals, Lazio and Roma will face off at their shared Stadio Olimpico on Saturday night.

Starting with the temporary hosts, while Roma might have enjoyed a boost last month, the Italian strugglers have shown a host of issues over the past month. Slumping to an immediate return to losing ways earlier in the week, I Giallorossi were last seen on Wednesday night getting hit with a 3-1 drumming against newly-crowned champions Inter Milan. With it confirmed that Head Coach Paulo Fonseca will be replaced by former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho come the end of the season, Roma also know that any chance of securing a top-six finish is off the table. Landing just a single Serie A victory in their last six attempts, Roma should also be concerned by their most recent meeting against their local rivals. When the two sides faced off back in January, they were hit with a 3-0 defeat.

As for Lazio, managing to take advantage of Roma’s latest slip-up in midweek, The Eagles secured another top-six finish with time to spare. Managing to make an immediate return to winning ways on Wednesday night, Simone Inzaghi’s men landed a late 1-0 win against Parma on home soil. With the pressure firmly off their shoulders and looking to make it back-to-back wins against I Giallorossi this weekend, it is well worth keeping an eye out for leading marksman, Ciro Immobile. Bagging that last-gasp winner against Parma in midweek, the Italian marksman finds himself enjoying another real purple patch. Recording six goals in as many Serie A outings, the former Borussia Dortmund striker has scored 28 strikes for club and country this season and should be confident of extending on that tally this week.
