Cocu set to replace Lampard at Derby

According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Phillip Cocu is set to be confirmed as the new manager of Derby County Football Club within the next 24 hours. His agent has been in England over the course of the last few days in order to try and come to terms on a deal with Derby’s owner, with a verbal agreement being put in place. The former Fenerbahce and PSV coach is said to have been told that the necessary funds will indeed be made available for him, as the Rams go in search of promotion to the Premier League once again.

Cocu isn’t shy when it comes to spending the big money necessary to get teams where he wants them to be, and Derby haven’t been either in recent years. The club are looking for a new manager in preparation for Frank Lampard’s impending departure, as the Chelsea legend prepares to return to the Blues as their new manager where he will be replacing Maurizio Sarri.
