Courtois’ Real Madrid switch moves closer?

According to Marca, Real Madrid could be moving a step closer towards securing a move for Thibaut Courtois in the wake of his phenomenal displays at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Belgian, who currently plays for Chelsea, is considered to be one of the brightest young goalkeepers in world football right now at the age of just 26. At 6 ft 6 he’s one of the most imposing figures in European football, which, as you’d expect, is an attribute that has drawn the attention of many high profile clubs throughout the continent.

The proposed fee is believed to be around €35 million which, in today’s market, can be considered relatively cheap in comparison to some of the other prices that have been thrown around in the past. Courtois has been on the books with Chelsea since way back in 2011, although he spent three years of his career on loan to Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
