Crystal Palace priced out of Sakho move

Crystal Palace have been priced out of a move for Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho according to the Guardian.

The France international spent the second half of last season on loan at Selhurst Park and impressed so much that he was nominated in the club’s Player of the Year awards despite playing for them just eight times.

The Eagles were keen on securing the services of the centre-back on a permanent basis but will instead spread the £30m it would take for Liverpool to do business over deals for four or five new additions.

A number of players have left Palace this summer and new manager Frank De Boer has work to do in assembling a squad for his first season in the Premier League.

He could be set to raid his former club Ajax with defensive duo Joel Veltman and Kenny Tete, both Netherlands internationals, on his radar.
