Bayern Munich defender Dante is eager to secure victory against his former employers Borussia Monchengladbach on Satuday.

The Brazilian joined Bayern from Gladbach at the end of last season, after helping them to UEFA Champions League qualification, and has since gone on to enjoy futher success at the Allianz Arena, securing the Bundesliga title and reaching the final of both the DFB-Pokal and Europe’s top club competition.

Jupp Heynckes’ men have little left to play for in their final league clash of the season but Dante insisted they will be going all out to secure three points against his old team-mates.

“Obviously it’s very special. I’m really looking forward to seeing many friends and the fans again,” he told the club’s official website.

“We’re definitely going there to win and we’ll definitely be up for it.”

Dante has been a key figure in a Bayern defence that has conceded only 15 goals in the league all season and manager Heynckes was quick to recognise the part the South American has played in their defensive displays this term.

Heynckes said: “He’s one of the main reasons we’ve let in so few goals this season.”

Dante has made 43 appearances this season, scoring one goal.
