Hull City’s Curtis Davies is looking forward to the hard work of pre-season following his move to the KC Stadium.

Davies joined the club from Birmingham City in June as Steve Bruce continues to bolster his squad ahead of their return season in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old went through a series of medical tests along with his new team-mates on Friday and said he was raring to go ahead of pre-season.

“I would say this was the most thorough first day of pre-season I’ve experienced. It was basically a full medical and more for everybody,” he told the club’s official website.

“It was nice to meet up with the rest of the lads and we’re looking forward to getting into the hard work. I’m not sure we’ll see a ball any time soon, but it’s great to be back in the football environment after the summer break.

“It was a very thorough first day and it took around three hours to go through all of the tests. As I’m still in the process of moving up to Hull, that was great and better than just coming in for a quick run. It was fantastic to get so much done.”

Bruce has made a number of signings since guiding the club back into the top flight including Allan McGregor, Ahmed Elmohamady, Maynor Figueroa and George Boyd.
