Dominic Solanke 7/5 to score anytime against Preston in Tuesday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Dominic Solanke to score anytime

Odds: 7/5 @ 888sport

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways when they return to the Vitality on Tuesday night, Bournemouth will host a struggling Preston in midweek.

Starting with the hosts, left disappointed to have only played out a 2-2 draw away at Rotherham over the weekend and missing a chance to claim top spot, Bournemouth will be glad to return home in midweek. Still seen as a leading contender in the race to secure an immediate Premier League return, the Cherries have still managed to collect 10 points over their last four Championship appearances. Still impressing with their displays in the final third, new boss Jason Tindall could be calling on leading marksman Dominic Solanke to spearhead their charge on the South Coast. Finding the net against Rotherham on Saturday afternoon, the former Liverpool starlet has now bagged three goals in as many second-tier showings.

As for the visitors, while Preston might have opened up the new campaign dreaming of a play-off finish, it has been a disappointing run of form for the Whites. Completely blown away against Watford on Saturday afternoon, Alex Neil’s men were hit for four at Vicarage Road and they have really gained a reputation for their glaring issues at the back. Now hit with back-to-back Championship defeats, with that run highlighted by a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Blackburn on home soil, the one-time Norwich boss has already seen his squad ship 21 goals so far this season, the second-worst tally in the division. Shipping six strikes in their last two defeats away from Deepdale, Preston certainly face another stern test on paper in midweek.
