Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe wants to keep Kieran Trippier at the club, according to Football Insider. The right-back is out of contract at the Premier League at the end of the season.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke said: “Trippier is such an influential figure, and I think he still has a lot to offer, as I think he’s proven in recent weeks. He’s been one of Newcastle’s better performers.
“A lot will come down to what Newcastle offer Trippier. He’s 35 and turns 36 next September, once the season starts.
“Eddie Howe ideally would like to keep Trippier, and I think he is happy at St James’ Park as well.
“I think if a deal can be offered that appeals to Trippier, whether that’s one year or maybe two years, I think there’s a willingness on all sides to try and get a deal done here.”
