Emery urges Ramsey to sign new contract

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has spoken about how he is very keen for Aaron Ramsey to sign a new contract with the club prior to the start of the 2018/19 season. The 27-year-old is about to enter the final year of his deal and many fans don’t want to see him go the same way as Jack Wilshere by leaving the club. Ramsey has been an effective member of the Gunners’ first-team line-up for years now since first joining back in 2008.

Emery spoke about how Ramsey has “the type of ability that I want” regarding his talents on the pitch, and noted that he has the right kind of ambition. At one point it seemed as if Ramsey’s Arsenal tenure could be coming to an end following extensive rumours regarding his future towards the back-end of last season, but now, all signs are pointing towards him staying at the Emirates beyond this year.
