Everton close in on Rojo

According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Everton are in serious discussions with Manchester United over the possibility of signing defender Marcos Rojo. The Argentine defender has been heavily linked to Everton in the past, but they’ve never quite been able to get a deal over the line. This news comes in the wake of the Toffees failing to secure the signing of Chris Smalling, as they continue to try and bolster their squad ahead of a push for seventh next season.

The last week or so has been pretty hectic at Goodison Park, with Everton doing everything in their power to improve their squad. When it comes to Rojo specifically, though, it feels like this really could be a best case scenario type of deal for everyone involved.

Rojo clearly hasn’t been happy for a while, and moving to Everton could serve as a pretty solid exit strategy out of Old Trafford.
