Everton in for Gameiro

Everton could make a move for Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gameiro when the transfer window reopens, according to the Daily Star.

The France international moved to the Spanish capital last summer after three years with Sevilla, and scored sixteen goals in forty-two appearances in all competitions during the 2016/17 campaign.

However, he has made just two substitute appearances for Diego Simeone’s side so far with Antoine Griezmann, Fernando Torres, Angel Correa and Luciano Vietto all featuring more frequently.

He is set to fall further down the pecking order in January when the returning Diego Costa will be eligible to play and is likely to move on, with Everton among the sides who could battle to secure his services.

The Toffees are on the lookout for more firepower after only managing to score four goals in their opening seven Premier League games so far this season, form which has left them in the bottom reaches of the division.
