Everton, Leicester vying for Walace

Brazil international Walace has emerged as a transfer target for Premier league rivals Everton and Leicester City, according to Mirror.

Hamburg midfielder has only joined Bundesliga club in January, but Premier League sides have expressed strong interest in prizing the anchorman away once the transfer window reopens.

The £8 million acquisition from Brazil outfit Gremio has been quick to announce his presence in the Bundesliga with a goal at his league debut against RB Leipzig.

Walace has come under the limelight following his gold-winning campaign at the summer Olympics with Brazil in 2016 when he was linked with a move for Leicester City, but Hamburg pipped the Foxes in the race for the Brazilian’s signature.

Claudio Ranieri is believed to be still monitoring his progress and is ready to return for the midfielder in the summer, when Everton, but also Serie A side Lazio are expected to join the race.

Leicester City’s hopes of entering the race to sign the 21-year-old will depend on whether the champions will be able to avoid drop to the Championship.
