Everton not in for Donnarumma

Everton are not interested in signing Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan this summer, according to Liverpool Echo.

The form of England’s number one goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was rather inconsistent between the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti to the dugout and the suspension of Premier League football due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and a number of reports in England claimed Everton were planning to bring in a new shot-stopper to replace him. In Italy, reports immediately made the connection between Ancelotti and Donnarumma whose contract with Milan is about to enter its final year, but it seems those reports were nowhere near the mark.

Apparently, Ancelotti regards Pickford as a great goalkeeper and has no intention of replacing him between the sticks any time soon, so the news that Donnarumma recently rejected an offer of a new deal from the Rossoneri plays no part in Everton’s plans whatsoever. The Merseyside Blues are looking at other areas to strengthen, with the priority given to the midfield and defence.
