Feyenoord denied PSV the opportunity to win the Eredivisie title on Sunday, after Jakub Moder’s late penalty rescued a 1-1 draw against Ajax.
A defeat for Robin van Persie’s side would have meant the league leaders could wrap up the title with victory over Telstar later in the day.
However, PSV were made to wait, as the spoils were shared in the Klassieker at Stadion Feijenoord.
Feyenoord went closest to scoring during the first half, with Ajax defender Jorthy Mokio making a superb goal-line clearance to deny Tsuyoshi Watanabe’s header.
Yet, it was Oscar Garcia’s side who broke the deadlock nine minutes into the second half. Shortly after Ayase Ueda headed narrowly wide, 18-year-old Seun Steur rifled home his first Eredivisie goal.
Nevertheless, Feyenoord grabbed an equaliser six minutes from time, as Moder made no mistake from 12 yards after Kian Fitz-Jim brought down Jordan Lotomba inside the box.

Data Debrief: Feyenoord hit the spot once again
Though they could not hold on for all three points, Ajax have now avoided defeat in their last 54 matches when scoring first in the Eredivisie, since a 5-2 defeat to PSV in October 2023.
Moder’s equalising penalty – and first Eredivisie goal in just under a year – means Feyenoord have scored their last 12 spot-kicks in the division, last failing to do so when Ueda was unsuccessful against PEC Zwolle in May 2024.
It was the 11th penalty awarded by referee Danny Makkelie this season, the most by any official in the Dutch top flight.
