Fiorentina sweating on Mutu and Frey fitness for Milan trip

Fiorentina are counting the cost of a disastrous match against Lecce at the weekend as captain Adrian Mutu and goalkeeper Sebastien Frey could both miss Saturday’s trip to AC Milan.

Not only did Fiorentina lose 2-1 at home to their lowly rivals on Sunday but Mutu went off with an injured elbow and his replacement Pablo Osvaldo was dismissed late on.

Since then Frey has been diagnosed with damage to a knee that has previously been operated on.

Both he and Mutu are doubtful for the trip to Milan.

La Viola would have gone third had they beaten Lecce but instead find themselves a point off the top four Champions League qualifying positions.
