Former RSC Anderlecht manager Constant Vanden Stock has died at the respectable age of 93.

Vanden Stock was chairman of the Brussels-based team from 1971 to 1996. During that reign, the club achieved ten national championships, won the Cupwinners Cup twice, the UEFA Cup once and the European SuperCup once as well.

In 1996, Vanden Stock was succeeded by his son Roger. From then on, he was honorary chairman of the team.

Anderlecht’s stadium was named after their former chairman.

It is a sad week for Anderlecht. Earlier today, several players attended the funeral of Mbo and Emile Mpenza’s mother Rosalie.
