Former Italian international wants Rangers move

The Scotsman is reporting that Gennaro Gattuso has begun negotiations with regards to a move back to Scottish Premier League club Rangers.

The 34-year-old played for the Ibrox club between 1997 and 1998 and following his release from AC Milan, it appears he is keen for a move back to Scotland.

It was an emotional moment for Gattuso when he was released by Milan after 13 seasons with the Italian giants and now he is planning his next move.

Despite Rangers not being involved in European competition next season and having financial difficulties, Rangers is where Gattuso wants to be.

This is according to Andrea D’Amico, the player’s agent, who said: “It is his wish to come back to Rangers but first I have to speak to the people at the club to find out what the situation is.”

Plenty of discussions could now take place between Gattuso’s representatives and Rangers as they try to make the move happen.

If it does, it would be a massive boost for Rangers who have had an extremely difficult few months. They would be signing an experienced midfielder who would, once again, be a popular figure with the home fans.

As for AC Milan, they are bound to bring in plenty of players this summer after a massive amount of players moved on this summer.

It is set to be a busy summer.
