Fulham enter Huddlestone race

Fulham are preparing a bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone, the Mail Online understands.

The England international has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane since the appointment of Andre Villas Boas, making just eleven Premier League starts last season.

Sunderland have had a £5million bid for the player accepted by Spurs, though Martin Jol, who took him to White Hart Lane in 2005, is ready to pounce as his proposed transfer to the North East has stalled.

New Fulham owner Shahid Khan has assured Jol that he will be given the resources to strengthen his squad for next season, with the Cottagers looking to improve on a poor second half of the last campaign.

The 26 year old began his career at Derby County, where he made almost 100 appearances in two seasons before moving to North London.
His last of four full international caps came in England’s 4-2 friendly defeat to Sweden last November.
