Fulham face competition for Mbabu

According to Sky Sports sources, newly promoted Fulham face competition from FC Basel to land the signature of Young Boys defender Kevin Mbabu. The 23-year-old, who spent four years with Newcastle United before moving to Switzerland, played a big role in helping Young Boys win the Swiss title for the first time in more than three decades. On top of that, he’s expected by many to become one of the best defenders in world football over the course of the next few years.

Mbabu failed to make any kind of impression with the Magpies, but now, he’s got experience under his belt as he attempts to help keep Fulham in the Premier League. The Cottagers are gearing up for what is sure to be a tough yet rewarding season for them, as they attempt to solidify themselves as a top-flight side following their play-off final victory over Aston Villa last season.
