Fulham want Wisdom on loan

Fulham are interested in taking Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom on a season long loan, the Mirror understands.

The 20 year old, who recently represented England in their disappointing European under 21 Championships campaign in Israel, broke into the Reds’ first team last season, making twelve starts in the Premier League.

Wisdom can play at both right-back and in the centre of defence, but is expected to see his first team chances limited at Anfield next season, and manager Brendan Rodgers would be keen to see the player gain more experience elsewhere.

The Reds have already secured the signing of Ivory Coast centre-back Kolo Toure, and have also been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.

There are no plans to sell Wisdom, who is on a long term contract at Anfield; though a season with an established Premier League side would no doubt be of benefit to him.
