Garcia wants to leave Manchester City

“He has told us he doesn’t want to extend his contract next season. He wants to play somewhere else.”

As reported by Sky Sports, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that young defender Eric Garcia wants to leave the club.

Garcia has less than a year left on his current contract at the Etihad, with the general expectation being that he will depart the former Premier League champions before the new season gets underway.

A move to Spanish giants Barcelona has been touted as very plausible, but as of now, there is no official deal in place. City were always bound to make a string of big changes after Liverpool captured the title, and now that it’s been confirmed that they’ll be playing Champions League football next season, you’d have to imagine they will be able to bring in a few top names before the summer transfer window closes.
