Juventus have signed Emanuele Giaccherini to a permanent contract from relegated side Cesena.

The 27-year-old originally transferred at the start of last season in a three million euros co-ownership deal .

In a statement on Juve’s official website, the club announced that they had bought the remaining 50 per cent of the player’s rights for 4.25m euros.

Juventus will pay the sum across the course of the next two years with Giaccherini signing a deal to keep him at the club until 2015.

The midfielder made 23 Serie A appearances as the Turin club stormed to the title, remaining undefeated throughout the league season.

His performances were noticed by Cesare Prandelli who selected him in his 23-man Italy squad for Euro 2012.

The transfer completes a remarkable progression for Giaccherini who was playing in the country’s third tier just three years ago.
