Competition: League One

Market: Gillingham win

Odds: 13/10 @ 888sport

With the chance to break into the play-off positions this weekend, a high-flying Gillingham will host away day strugglers Doncaster on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Gillingham might have continued to show a string of inconsistencies when finishing February, The Gills find themselves enjoying a real purple patch. Putting in what was arguably a season-best display earlier in the week, Steve Evans’ men picked up a stunning 3-0 romp against automatic chasers Lincoln and the mood in their camp should be at a real high. With it appearing that their close-fought defeat against Fleetwood on March 9th was just a minor blip, Gillingham have collected 12 points from their last five League One matchups. Knowing that victory this weekend could see them break into the play-off positions, Evans’ side have also gained a recent reputation for their free-scoring displays in the final third. Bagging a trio of goals in each of their last four victories, The Gills will be looking to extend on that tally this weekend.

As for the visitors, although Doncaster might just about be hanging onto their spot in the play-off positions, the Yorkshire outfit have struggled since Darren Moore left his position in the dugout. Putting in what was a hugely worrying display earlier in the week, The Rovers were hit with a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Oxford and they have managed to collect just a single point from their last three League One matchups. Drawing a blank in each of those three outings, it should also be noted that Doncaster have really gained a reputation for their rather glaring problems on the road. Including that drumming away at Oxford in midweek, interim boss Joseph Newton has seen his temporary squad lose each of their previous five straight contests away from The Keepmoat Stadium.
