Veteran goalkeeper Lee Woon-Jae was picked Monday for South Korea's World Cup squad, a day after a year-long ban over a nightclub visit expired.

Lee, 35, will take part in a World Cup away qualifier against Saudi Arabia on November 19, the Korea Football Association said.

He was banned from the national team for 12 months after taking his teammates to an early-hours drinking session during the Asian Cup in Indonesia last year.

The goalkeeper, whose crucial penalty shootout save took South Korea into the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup, ended the suspension on Sunday.

“I think he has fully reflected on what he did. He has also played well in the domestic league,” coach Huh Jung-Moo told reporters.

The squad also includes Park Ji-Sung of Manchester United, Lee Young-Pyo of Germany's Borussia Dortmund and Park Chu-Young of AS Monaco, the coach said.

South Korea are grouped with Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and North Korea in the final qualifying round for the 2010 World Cup.

They played out a disappointing 1-1 draw against North Korea in the opening match of the qualifying stage but overwhelmed the United Arab Emirates 4-1 on October 16.
