Granero casts doubt on QPR future

QPR midfielder Esteban Granero has admitted he may leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League.

The 25-year-old moved to Loftus Road from Real Madrid in August and has made 18 league appearances as Harry Redknapp’s men failed to retain their top-flight status.

With the prospect of a campaign in the English Championship now looming, the Spaniard says he will need to discuss his future.

“Will I stay at QPR? Again it will be a summer of little stability. We will have to wait for the season to end and to talk to the club. We will see what is best for everyone,” he told As.

“My ambition remains the same. You always have to be disappointed with how things have gone. The results have been negative, so it is the responsibility of everyone. I take mine.

“My enthusiasm to continue playing football and to continue to grow is the same or greater. I have learned a lot as a persona and especially as a footballer. This League makes you grow a lot. Now I feel stronger than a year ago.”

Granero has been on the winning team on just one occasion since joining QPR – a 2-1 victory against Southampton in March.
