Grant set for Manchester United medical

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Lee Grant with the goalkeeper being set to take part in a medical later this week. The 35-year-old has been grinding away for years now in English football, and it seems as if he’s finally ready for the big jump to one of England’s biggest clubs.

Grant kicked off his youth career with Watford, before eventually moving to Derby County where he spent the first seven years of his professional career. From there he bounced around a series of clubs, which included a return to Derby, before landing at the Britannia Stadium with Stoke.

Grant has been highly praised during his time as The Potters’ number one, so much so that he’ll be getting an immediate return to the Premier League with this transfer. However, many fans are wondering whether or not he’ll be used purely as a back-up as speculation over David De Gea’s future continues.
