Grealish pens new Aston Villa deal

Jack Grealish has signed a new contract with Aston Villa, according to Sky Sports.

The midfielder was strongly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer though the Midlands club rejected a bid of £25m with owner Naseef Sariwis insisting that he wasn’t for sale.

The twenty-three-year-old had just two years remaining on his previous deal but is now committed to the club until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Grealish has played in all nine of Villa’s Championship games so far this season and he is now just two off a hundred league appearances for the club.

He scored three goals and provided five assists as Steve Bruce’s side finished in the playoff places last season, only to lose to Fulham in the final at Wembley.

Aston Villa currently sit in thirteenth place in the table and they can be backed at a price of 4/1 to be promoted.
