Competition: UEFA Nations League

Market: Greece win

Odds: 2/3 @ 888sport

Looking to continue their unbeaten start in this year’s tournament, Greece will welcome a struggling Kosovo to Athens on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Greece might have been hit with a 2-1 defeat against Austria in a friendly showdown last week, the former European champions did bounce back in some style. Putting in a professional display as they picked up what turned out to be a routine 2-0 win against Moldova on home soil over the weekend, Ethniki have collected seven points from their opening three Nations League appearances and they have continued to build off of an eye-catching end to their qualifying campaign for EURO 2021. While they might not have managed to secure an automatic route to next year’s delayed European Championships, Greece did win each of their final Group J contests on the bounce and they are now unbeaten in their last six competitive contests on the bounce, recording five wins.

As for the visitors, while Kosovo might have shocked many as they opened up their EURO 2021 qualifying campaign last year, they quickly fell off the boil and now find themselves in the midst of a real sluggish patch. Watching their chances of reaching next year’s European Championships go up in smoke after getting hit with a 2-1 defeat away against North Macedonia last week, the Blues also put in another lethargic display as they slumped to a 1-0 loss against Slovenia over the weekend. Signing off their Group A campaign with back-to-back defeats, Kosovo are in the midst of a seven-match winless run across all competitions, losing six of those appearances. In for what should be another tough test in midweek and hit with a 2-1 defeat when they faced off against Greece last month, we’re backing a similar home victory on Wednesday.
