According to a recent report from Marca, Erling Haaland’s £64 million release clause will become active in January – not next summer.

The Norwegian star has been lighting up the Bundesliga ever since he arrived at the club with the overwhelming expectation being that he will carry that momentum forward into the next few years of his career and beyond. Of course, at the same time, the £64 million figure quoted feels quite low when you consider just how valuable he is to the German giants.

Haaland just continues to score goals for fun week in and week out and, as we know, that’s been attracting the attention of many other top clubs across Europe.

Whether or not he takes the next step and actually goes through with a move away from Dortmund remains to be seen but for now, it’s just exciting to know that there could be some real activity once we reach the winter.
