Bayern Munich player Hamit Altintop has joined the Turkish national side on its trip to Geneva, Switzerland, in order to prepare for the upcoming European Championships.

Altintop suffered a muscular injury on Friday and it wasn’t certain whether the midfielder would be fit in time to travel along.

Doctors now confirm that the player is ready to represent his team at Euro 2008, but it remains uncertain whether he will make an appearance in the first match.

Turkey face Euro 2004 runners-up Portugal in their first game on Saturday.
