Havertz urged to stay at Leverkusen

Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen is not yet ready to join Bayern Munich and should stay where he is as it would serve his development best, according to Michael Balack. Having made that move himself back in 2006, the former German international feels it’s still too early for the 20-year-0ld to follow him on that path, as he told Sport1.

Havertz, now a full-time senior Germany international himself, has been attracting interest from top clubs across Europe. Apart from Bayern, he has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. A recent report in England dismissed the possibility of an Anfield switch due to his potentially huge price – some reports have it down at as much as €120 million, and the Champions League holders have no need to spend that kind of money on any player at the moment.

Nonetheless, Havertz remains among the hottest young prospects of world football, along with Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund and Kylian Mbappe of PSG.
