Higuain agrees terms with Arsenal

Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle with Gonzalo Higuain over personal terms on a four year contract, the Guardian understands.

The Argentina forward has indicated that he is happy with the Gunners offer of £130,000 a week, and the club are confident of the deal being completed, ideally in time for the 25 year old to take part in the commercial tour of Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan which begins on July 11th.

Higuain has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates ever since he declared the he was leaving Real Madrid, though Juventus are also interested in securing the players services.

The former River Plate man has seen his chances limited at the Bernabeu in recent times, but still managed sixteen league goals ast season.

Should the deal go through, Higuain will become Arsenal’s first £20m plus player, with Anrdey Arshavin, who signed for £15m in 2009 the clubs current record signing.
