Higuain completes Chelsea switch

Chelsea have completed the loan signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus, according to the Telegraph.

The Argentina international has joined up with Maurizio Sarri’s side for the remainder of this season, while the Blues will have the option to secure his services for a further twelve months in the summer.

The signing is likely to signal the end of Alvaro Morata’s Chelsea career, with the Spaniard expected to return to his home country after struggling to find his best form at Stamford Bridge.

Higuain had spent the first half of this season at Milan, where he racked up twenty-two appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals while was even more consistent a scorer at Juve, Napoli, Real Madrid and River Plate – the club where he began his career.

The thirty-one-year-old signed too late to feature in Thursday evening’s EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham Hotspur but could make his debut at Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday.
