Hodgson had no knowledge of Zaha to China

“I don’t know if you sign a new five-year contract in the Premier League and then go to China at the age of 26. But who knows? Perhaps I am naive. Perhaps it does happen.

“All I do know is that no-one at the club knows anything at all about this story.”

Those are the words of Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson when discussing the possibility of Wilfried Zaha making the move to China. While the switch may initially seem ridiculous more and more players have been entertaining the possibility of going over as of late, mainly because of the wages involved.

Right now Zaha is in the form of his life with the Eagles but it’s no secret that many top clubs are interested in signing him, although the majority of them are located in Europe.

If he did make the jump to Chinese football, it’d be intriguing to see what the reaction would be.
