According to Bild, Hoffenheim are interested in making their loan signing of Reiss Nelson permanent – but the feeling isn’t reciprocated by the Gunners. The German club don’t have the option to make it a full time deal and Arsenal reportedly wouldn’t want to sell even if they did, leaving things at a bit of a stalemate. Nelson has impressed at Hoffenheim since securing his loan move, although it does seem as if he’s still heavily invested in the idea of breaking into the Arsenal first team upon returning.

The 18 year old still has plenty of room and time left to grow as a professional footballer, which is likely why Arsenal want to keep him on the books. Given their current run he probably wouldn’t get a sniff, but in a few years time, he could be a real player at the Emirates and Unai Emery is well aware of that.
