Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway is targeting as many as six new signings ahead of the new Premier League season.

The club achieved promotion via a 1-0 victory over Watford in the Championship play-off final in May, ensuring Palace will play top-flight football for the first time since 2005.

Holloway has been busy with his recruitment drive during the close-season adding the likes of Elliot Grandin, Jerome Thomas and Dwight Gayle to his squad.

But he is keen to add more reinforcements as the former Blackpool and QPR manager looks to maintain Palace’s place in the Premier League.

“Hopefully I can get some new players in to bolster the squad,” he told The London Evening Standard.

“We are trying really hard, we are getting closer and closer to some really exciting things and hopefully it all works out.

“I need to put pressure on everybody in almost every position.

“I probably need to get six signings to be able to do that realistically, so me and the chairman are working our socks off.”
