Holt uncertain on Norwich future

Norwich captain Grant Holt says he is unsure about his future at Carrow Road beyond this season.

The 32-year-old striker looks to be on his way out of the club, after a campaign in which he has scored seven goals in 33 Premier League appearances.

Holt – who is contracted at Norwich until 2015 – has been linked with moves elsewhere after manager Chris Hughton signed strikers Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Luciano Becchio earlier this year to bolster his attacking options.

The English forward said he was aware of the reports linking him with a move out of Norwich and that at times he has not enjoyed the football his side have played this season. However, he also stated that keeping his family happy was his first priority.

“There will always be rumours. People talk about my family moving back north,” Holt said.

“It was a decision which was made between me and my wife (to come to Norwich). I have always said the family comes first and I do not want to take my kids all over the country and they are at an age where they are starting school.

“(But) only the manager and the people upstairs will know whether they want me to be here next year. I have got my contract and we will see from there.

“This season has been topsy-turvy. It has been indifferent. I enjoyed it at times and at other times no. That is football. You get on with it. You do a job for the team and you do what you are asked to do.”
