Market: Huddersfield Town win
Odds: 6/5 @ 888sport
Two sides who will find the mood in their camps at a polar opposite, Huddersfield will welcome a struggling Nottingham Forest to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Huddersfield might have once again found themselves at the heart of another relegation scrap last season, the Terriers have opened the new campaign with a real flurry. Making a string of improvements over the summer and with the mood in their camp likely to be at a red-hot high, the former Premier League outfit have really found their feet under Head Coach Carlos Corberán. Despite seeing Everton break their hearts last month with a last-gasp League Cup winner at the John Smith’s Stadium, the one-time Leeds coach has seen his side muster 13 points from their opening seven contests. Opening this weekend sat in the final play-off spot and with some in their camp dreaming of another fairy tale top-six finish, Huddersfield were last seen laying down a marker. Landing a thumping 3-0 victory away at second-tier returners Blackpool, Saturday’s hosts have won four of their last five Championship matchups.
As for the visitors, with it announced on Thursday that Head Coach Chris Hughton had been given his marching orders, Nottingham Forest really find themselves in the midst of a Championship nightmare. Throwing away the lead at home against Cardiff last weekend and eventually hit with a dreadful 2-1 defeat at the City Ground, the one-time European kings are now tipped as one of the early-season relegation contenders. With the mood in their camp at a rock-bottom low, and with the search for a new manager underway, the Reds are already sat three points adrift at the foot of the table. Remarkably managing to land just a single point from any of their opening seven Championship matchups, Forest were also hammered 4-0 by Wolves in the League Cup last month. Facing a stern test north this weekend, we’re backing what could turn out to be a routine home victory here.
