According to a recent report from Sky Sports, the expectation is that Odion Ighalo is on the verge of extending his loan spell with Manchester United.
Ighalo’s spell with the club was set to end on May 31st, but courtesy of the coronavirus outbreak, the football season in England is currently suspended. Many fans were wondering what that could mean for the future of the Nigerian forward at the club, but now, it looks like his contract will be extended until June 30th.
Shanghai Shenhua, his parent club, are expecting him to return to China once his current tenure at Old Trafford comes to an end – but it may not be that simple. Ighalo has been much more successful during his short time in Manchester than most expected, with his wonder goal in the Europa League prior to the competition being suspended serving as the perfect example of what he’s capable of.
