Inter close in on Icardi

La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned that Inter are set to wrap up the deal for Sampdoria striker Mauro Icardi.

The Neroazzurri have been working on the transfer since the end of the January transfer window and they seem to have won the race for the talented forward.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the two sides have agreed on a €15 million transfer fee, with the final details of the contract set to be sorted in the coming weeks.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Neroazzurri will pay €13 million over the next three years, while giving Sampdoria co-ownership of one of their talented youngsters.

Mauro Icardi arrives at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as a long-term replacement for Diego Milito, who has missed a big part of the current season through injury.

The 20-year-old striker has been absolutely brilliant in his first ever Serie A season, scoring 9 goals in 23 league matches.
