Looking to make it back-to-back Serie A victories on Friday night, Inter Milan will make the trip to the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi when they face off against Verona.

Starting with the hosts, despite opening competitive duties earlier in the month with a thumping 3-0 win against Catanzaro on Coppa Italia duties, Verona failed to keep up that momentum last weekend. Putting in a display that was riddled with issues at the back, I Gialloblu were hit with a 3-2 defeat against Sassuolo on home soil and they know that they will face another stern test on Friday night. Signing off the 2020/21 campaign in the midst of a nightmare run of form that saw them fail to win any of their last nine Serie A matchups, Head Coach Eusebio Di Francesco will also be worried by his side’s record against the defending champions. Hit with a 1-0 defeat when they made the trip to the San Siro back in April, Verona have remarkably failed to win any of their last 21 straight meetings against Inter, a run that stems all the way back to 1992.

As for the visitors, while Inter might have seen the likes of Head Coach Antonio Conte and talisman Romelu Lukaku leave the San Siro over the summer, the defending Italian champions did lay down a marker last weekend. Looking to try and defending their Serie A crown this season, new boss Simone Inzaghi saw his side land a thumping 4-0 win when they welcomed Genoa to Milan in their domestic opener. Signing off their pre-season preparations with a real flurry earlier in the month, the former Lazio boss should be smelling a golden chance to make it back-to-back wins on Friday night. Making the trip to the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi holding what is a remarkable unbeaten run against Verona, we’re backing a similar away victory for Inter.
