Inter Milan interested in Vertonghen

According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, Jan Vertonghen is one of Inter Milan’s top priorities in the transfer market this summer alongside Dries Mertens.

While Mertens changing clubs seems like an inevitability at this stage, Vertonghen has always seemed to hang on to his place in the starting XI with Tottenham Hotspur despite many believing he would leave. The Belgian is set to become a free agent within the next few months and when that happens, the door will swing open for Inter to come in and try to take him off of Tottenham’s hands.

Whether or not Vertonghen is going to sign a new deal to stay in North London isn’t yet known, but the opinion regarding him as a player is definitely split. Some believe he should cut ties and go, whereas others feel like he still has an awful lot more to give with Spurs.
