Inter Milan lead Messi race?

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Inter Milan have an advantage over Manchester City in the race to sign Lionel Messi.

The Barcelona star appears to be on the verge of leaving the Spanish giants in favour of something new, and while he could always stay put, this seems to be the closest we’ve seen to the Argentine actually walking away from the Nou Camp.

Inter have slowly but surely been building themselves up as a credible threat to Juventus for a few years now, and while they may have lost in the 2020 UEFA Europa League final, the only way is up.

Messi would be one hell of an acquisition, and when going up against Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo, he would reignite one of the greatest rivalries in the history of football for at least one more season. It’s a long shot, but it may just happen in the crazy world we’re living in.
