Inter target put up for sale

PSV Eindhoven have announced their star player Ibrahim Affelay is for sale, having realized they will not be able to extend his contract.

The 24-year-old has been linked with various clubs over the last few months, including Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

With Afellay’s contract expiring at the end of the season, PSV management have decided it’s better to sell him in January than lose him for free next summer.

“PSV are ready to evaluate all possible options for the sale of the player, because we reached the conclusion that, for numerous different reasons, it is unrealistic to extend his contract,” reads an official statement.

Despite heavy interest from English clubs, Serie A giants Juventus and Inter remain the favourites for his signature, with even Wesley Sneijder admitting he would be delighted if Afellay joined him at Giuseppe Meazza.
