Italian giants vying for Benfica starlet

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola understands that Juventus and Napoli are showing interest in Benfica goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

The Italian giants had scouts present as the Eagles faced Tottenham in the second leg of their Europa League Last 16 stage tie, making a check on the Slovenian keeper.

Juventus appear to be leading the chase at the moment as they continue the search for long-term successor to Gianluigi Buffon.

Meanwhile, Napoli are also keen given that they could stay without first choice shot-stopper Pepe Reina.

Jan Oblak joined Benfica from Slovenian side Olimpija and enjoyed several loan spells before he was given a real opportunity at Estadio da Luz.

He has managed to nail down a regular starting berth just before the New Year and has since been in fine form, making 11 Primeira Liga appearances and featuring in 2 Europa League matches.

Oblak has so far earned 3 Slovenia caps as he is playing second fiddle to Samir Handanovic in the national team.
